Back of Your Hand

like i’ve learned to know the back of your hand
unbelievable how little you understand
fictitious moons impaling their night
you don’t even try to get it half right
nice and neat, stars lined up in a row
pointing out wonders you make up as you go
all except me moving as you demand
like i’ve learned to know the back of your hand

like i’ve learned to know the back of your hand
unbelievable how little you understand
black winds pick up dirt from desert floors
debris on debris from your neithers and nors
it’s impossible keeping it out of our eyes
so pass me the bottle, tell yourself some more lies
you know them so well like you had this all planned
like i’ve learned to know the back of your hand
