Couldn’t come looking. (Promise?) Pretend
nothing’s off. (Tell it.) Haven’t lost track
counting down. (Keep me safe.) If you wish.

Done… (Forget.) Doesn’t breath find wind
callously changing! (Careless sins.) Won’t wreck
Mister Moses. (Seaweed. Clouded.) Can’t rush.

Isn’t fitting in together. (As if meant.)
Set, reset, re-reset. (Settle?) Fall back
bedded down. (Lie against me.) Don’t check
close enough. (Dark outlasts light.) A hint
       tried once. (No, didn’t.)
