June Bugged

I’ve definitely been bitten by the poetry prompt bug! Before this April, I’d never written to regular prompt, not outside of an occasional topical assignment given by my night school prof. After finding April’s experience rather addictive, I got Maggie to agree to invent daily prompts for May. My pace slowed from how crazy April was, but that’s partly because I’m still doing derivative poems from April along with other writing, yet I still managed to write to each of Maggie’s prompts for May.

Now it does a flip-flop on me. Maggie had taken charge of May prompts only on the condition that I do daily poetry prompts for June. So not only do I have to get my muse to respond to prompts, but I get to be the one to come up with ideas for those prompts. So here goes! For the poetry prompts I’ve suggested for June, I’ve written the following poems in response to myself—

  1. Interesting prompts. Good to find your blogcasa. Fun, fun, fun.

    • Thanks. This April was the first time I wrote to prompt for an extended stretch, as contrasted with a lit class assignment here and there. Now I’m hooked. I still write a lot of off-prompt poetry, but poetry prompts are like a daily morning jog.
