⠀⠀⠀⠀It used to be I wished I were like you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Which indicates how well the one who knew
⠀⠀⠀⠀you then did truly know the real you: his
⠀⠀⠀⠀attentions bought out what the best you is.
⠀⠀⠀⠀It’s natural for me to be jealous of
⠀⠀⠀⠀you when you’re loved by one with selfless love.
⠀⠀⠀⠀I envy you no longer. Now what’s known
⠀⠀⠀⠀of you is nothing more than what gets shown
⠀⠀⠀⠀according to what you think you should be
⠀⠀⠀⠀to mirror what your new friend wants to see.
⠀⠀⠀⠀If selfish claims on you weren’t all he knew,
⠀⠀⠀⠀we’d know by wishing we were more like you.
