Dream and Reality

⠀⠀⠀⠀Dream:⠀⠀⠀At last! Most vivid, most supreme
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀waking: I’ve turned real, no more as though
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀less concrete than my friend. I’ll be, I’ll know,
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I’ll make sense, be remembered, find esteem.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Reality:⠀⠀⠀Yes! Let me be the dream!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I’m tired of being thought not good enough
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀without my imaginary friend. I’ll warp, I’ll bluff,
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀I’ll hide and fake, I’ll blur and change and scheme.
⠀⠀⠀⠀Next morning found the two sleeping in late
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀with naked legs and arms tangled in knots
⠀⠀⠀⠀so tight I couldn’t tell whom first to wake.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀They told me not to worry, just to wait
⠀⠀⠀⠀and see, how Dream wakes up in afterthoughts
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀leaving Reality to its mistake.
