Always Be

                             Two perfect lines
                             came to meet me
                             waking from dream
                             early this morning.
                             So perfect, I knew
                             I would not forget
                             them nor the poem
                             meant to follow on,
                             so I rolled over and
                             returned to sleep.

                             I had an opportunity
                             for the best position,
                             but I turned it down.
                             There will always be
                             other jobs as good.
                             There will always be
                             poems to fill the hole.
                             There will always be
                             loves for any love lost.
                             There will always be…

One Response to Always Be

  1. Brooke says:

This is beautiful. I love the play between permanence and transience.
