Too Good To

When I suspected it
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀too good to
be real, my suspicions
clouded my vision
⠀⠀⠀and I came to see
its reality inside me.
⠀⠀⠀
When I thought it
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀too good to
last, my thinking
numbed my tongue
⠀⠀⠀and I came to kiss
what I’ll always miss.
⠀⠀⠀
When I believed it
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀too good to
be true, my belief
pierced my heart
⠀⠀⠀and I came to die
to my lie’s own lie.
⠀⠀⠀

As clearly shown in this reflective piece, aspiration will always prevail before rationality gives clarity. This is because we are human. It has been exposed here in the appropriate melancholy tone and voice. Well done.
