Too Good To

When I suspected it
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀too good to
be real, my suspicions
clouded my vision
⠀⠀⠀and I came to see
its reality inside me.
⠀⠀⠀
When I thought it
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀too good to
last, my thinking
numbed my tongue
⠀⠀⠀and I came to kiss
what I’ll always miss.
⠀⠀⠀
When I believed it
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀too good to
be true, my belief
pierced my heart
⠀⠀⠀and I came to die
to my lie’s own lie.
⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀
